When Dominique and Bernard Kimmel set up as farmers at the end of the 1970s, it was of course to practice organic farming. The founders of Arcadie experienced first-hand the difficulties of practising organic farming at a time when it was still very marginal. Since then, this evidence of organic farming has not left Arcadie. Every square metre they manage to convert to organic farming is a victory for them. They also want to promote small-scale farming, on a human scale, and if possible locally. There must be many more farmers in all areas.
