The Buckwheat by Schalk is organically grown in Austria by the Schalk family, who have been cultivating this nutritious grain for two generations on their ecological farm in Ilz, east of Graz. Today, Rainer and his brother Franz continue their family’s tradition of sustainable farming. Despite being known as a grain, buckwheat is actually a flowering plant related to rhubarb and has been consumed for centuries. Naturally gluten-free, it has become increasingly popular in modern diets.
